My 2015 Mercedes E350 has started making a whining noise from the transmission that gets louder as I speed up. It's not super loud yet but I know these 7G Tronic units can have pump issues and if I ignore it I'm probably looking at a full rebuild. The dealer in Dubai quoted me 2,500 dirhams just to open it up and diagnose, which seems insane. A guy at my office told me to check out some of the transmission shops in Sharjah because they're way more affordable and actually know what they're doing. I found https://gearboxrepairsharjah.ae online and it looks like they cover a lot of brands, but I'm always nervous about taking my car to a shop I found on the internet, you know? I'm hoping to hear from someone who's actually used a gearbox specialist in Sharjah, not necessarily this specific place but any reputable shop. Did they stand behind their work? How were the prices compared to Dubai? I don't mind driving to Sharjah if it saves me thousands of dirhams, but I also don't want to end up with a transmission that fails again in six months. The car has 165,000 kilometers on it and I'd like to keep it for at least two more years. Any recommendations or warnings would be super helpful. Thanks everyone.
