Few years back watching the New Year fireworks at Burj Khalifa was simple, you just go early and stand wherever you get the place. Now Emaar has started a proper ticketed area at Burj Park, and since many people are booking it for the first time, there are some small things that they usually miss. So before you pay for Burj Khalifa New Year tickets, it is better to know these points.
1. Buy Only From Official or Authorized Sellers
When the demand is this high, fake sellers also come into the picture. You will see people on social media selling tickets at cheap rate or reselling at double price. My suggestion is to book only from the official Emaar partner (last year it was Platinumlist) or from a trusted tourism company, because if the ticket is not valid then you will not get entry and there is nobody to complain to.
2. Check What Is Included in the Ticket
Many people think the ticket is only for entry, but let me tell you that last year the adult ticket also had food and beverage voucher of AED 60 and kids ticket had AED 30. Inside there was live music, DJ and kids activities as well. Rates were starting around AED 580 for adults and children below five was free. For this year the prices are not out yet, so check the details properly at the time of booking.
3. Seating Is First Come First Serve
Having a ticket does not mean you have a fixed seat. The picnic tables, drum tables and bean bags are given on first come basis, so the family who reaches early gets the better spot. Gates usually open from afternoon on December 31st, and my suggestion is to reach by evening at least if you want a comfortable place with good view.
4. Badge Collection Before the Event
This is the point most people forget. The ticket alone is not enough, you have to collect the entry badge a few days ago, normally between 26th and 30th December. Suppose you are coming from abroad and landing on 31st, then check this with the seller before booking itself.
5. Plan Your Travel and Weather
Roads around Downtown gets closed from evening, so metro does the job better than car. Also December nights in Dubai are cooler than what people expect, so keep a light jacket especially for kids and elders.
