For those planning to apply for a US visa from Pakistan , Yugo.pk provides comprehensive guidelines to help you through the entire application process. Please note the following essential steps:
Overview:
Before starting the application process, determine whether you need a new US visa. If you already have a valid US visa or are from a country participating in the Visa Waiver Program, you may not need a new visa.
How to Apply:
Step 1: Determining the type of visa
Identify your visa type by referring to the Common Nonimmigrant Visas section. Each visa type specifies qualifications and required application items. Choose one that suits your purpose of travel.
Also, familiarize yourself with the Visa Waiver Program. If your country participates, and your visit is for business or pleasure, lasting 90 days or less, you may not need a visa.
Step 2: Completion of Form DS-160
Complete the DS-160 form accurately, as it cannot be modified once submitted. Review the guidelines for completing the DS-160 form carefully. Get help from an immigration lawyer or translator if needed. Remember, the call center cannot help you complete the DS-160. Keep your DS-160 number for appointment booking.
Step 3: Payment of visa fee
After determining the visa type and completing the DS-160, proceed to pay the visa fee. See Visa Fees page for categories and related fees in USD and local currency. Read the Bank and Payment Options page for payment methods. Keep the payment receipt as you will need the receipt number to schedule an appointment.
Step 4: Scheduling an appointment
Log in using the credentials used to pay the visa fee. Access your dashboard and select 'Schedule Appointment' from the left-hand menu. You will need your passport number, visa fee receipt number, and the ten-digit barcode number from your DS-160 verification page. This process allows you to select your visa type, enter personal details, add accompanying persons, confirm payment and schedule your appointment.
Step 5: Visa Interview at Embassy/Consulate
Attend your visa interview on the scheduled date and time. See the Schedule My Appointment page for necessary documents. Before visiting, review security regulations at the embassy/consulate for a list of prohibited items.
Step 6: Collecting passport and visa
After approval, collect your passport and visa from the pick-up location selected during the interview appointment scheduling.
