I'm thinking about starting a Vanaspati Indutsry set up and wanted to hear from people who have actually done it. I know it's not easy, with all the approvals, machinery, and sourcing involved, so I want to get some real insights before diving in.
Some specific things I'm curious about:
1. Approvals & Licenses – I've heard you need GSPCB license , FSSAI registration, GST, etc. How long does it usually take to get all these? Any tips to speed up the process?
2. Plant & Equipment – What machinery is essential for a small to medium plant? Any brands or suppliers you recommend?
3. Raw Materials – Where do you usually source oils and hydrogenated fats? Any trusted vendors or wholesalers?
4. Production & Quality – How do you keep wastage low and maintain consistent quality? Any tips for first-time manufacturers?
5. Marketing & Distribution – For a new vanaspati brand, what works best? Local retailers, bulk sales, or online platforms?
