How to Resize a Signature Without Installing Software

It's not a long store, earlier for any type of photo editing people used to install software like Photoshop or some photo editor in the computer. But now most of the work is done online and people don't want to fill their system with extra software just for one small task. Since the majority of the users need to resize signature only when they are filling some form, this is a very common question that they usually ask.

And there is one more reason as well. Office laptops and cyber cafe computers mostly don't allow to install anything, so even if you want to install a software you cannot do it there.

Now before resizing, the scan of the signature should be good. Sign on a white paper with a black pen and click the photo in day light. Keep the mobile straight above the paper otherwise the signature will look tilted in the image. Then crop the photo from the gallery itself, because every phone has the crop option inbuilt. Remove the table, shadow and paper edges so only the signature is left with little white space around it.

Next thing is to check the size that the form wants. Mostly it is written near the upload button, like JPG under 20 KB or 140 x 60 pixels. Some bank and government forms give the size in cm also, so read it carefully and note it down somewhere.

Some people try to reduce the size from the phone gallery editor only, but there you cannot set the exact KB that the form is asking. So the file either stays big or the quality goes down too much.

Now for the resizing you can go with signature resize which does this work directly in the browser. You dont need to sign up or install anything there. You have to open the site, select your signature image and type the KB or the width and height as per the form. Then download the new file and its ready for upload. It works on laptop as well as on mobile browser, so the steps are same for Android and iPhone users also. And the signature lines dont get faded after resizing, which normally happens when people reduce the size from some random app.

After downloading, open the file once and zoom it to check the signature. If it is looking light or broken then resize it again with less KB, but keep it inside the limit given in the form. Also better to save the final file in your email or google drive, so next time when some other form asks for the signature you can directly use it from there.
