A puncture resistance tester measures material strength by applying controlled compression force through a probe until the specimen ruptures. The sample is clamped firmly in a fixture, and a hemispherical probe moves down at a constant, preset speed, pushed into the material. A load cell records the force continuously, and the peak force at the moment of rupture is displayed as the puncture strength.
This shows how well films, membranes, and rubbers withstand sharp or pointed objects during packaging, handling, and transport. Testing in line with ASTM F1306 keeps results consistent and comparable.
Presto Stantest's Puncture Tester for Films (Model PPF-0165) features a 20 Kgf load cell, variable speed of 30-300 mm/min, a digital display, and built-in calibration for accurate, repeatable results you can trust.
