I have been thinking about how hard it can be to turn an idea into something that can truly work for many years. A strong cause is very important. There are also questions about funding, operating costs, volunteers, services and how the nonprofit will measure its progress.
I am currently exploring how a nonprofit business plan can bring all of these areas together in one way. I really like the idea of having a document that explains the purpose of the nonprofit while also showing how it can stay financially sustainable.
For those who have started or managed a nonprofit what did you find most challenging when putting your plan together? Did you focus more on funding and finances or, on the impact you want the nonprofit to create?
