Do Adult Banner Ads actually work for affiliates?

I keep seeing people talk about Adult Banner Ads when discussing affiliate traffic, and it makes me wonder if they really work or if they are just one of those things everyone tries once and then forgets about. I have been experimenting with different traffic sources for a while, and banner ads always seemed like the most basic option, so I was curious if anyone was actually getting decent results from them.

One thing that held me back at first was the idea that banners felt a bit outdated. When you browse forums, a lot of people say users ignore them because of banner blindness. I had the same doubt. If people are used to skipping past them, would they really click on them, especially in the adult niche where there are already so many ads everywhere?

Still, I decided to test them with a small affiliate campaign just to see what would happen. What I noticed was that results depended a lot on placement and design. When I used very generic banners, the clicks were almost nonexistent. But when I tried more eye catching creatives and targeted sites that actually matched the offer, things improved a bit. It was not explosive traffic, but it was steady enough to make me pay attention.

Another thing I realized is that banners seem to work better as part of a mix. When combined with other formats like native or pop traffic, they can quietly bring in extra clicks that add up over time. On their own they might feel slow, but alongside other sources they can still play a role.

So from my experience, Adult Banner Ads are not some magic traffic source, but they are not useless either. If you treat them like a small supporting channel instead of expecting instant conversions, they can still help an affiliate campaign grow little by little.
