The 2022 NBA offseason is in full swing, and trade rumors are swirling. Up-and-coming franchises are making massive free-agent signings, while title contenders are adding the finishing touches to push them over the top. However, amid all of the recent NBA news, it appears as though 2K sports has revealed their latest cover athlete for the upcoming NBA 2K23, and it sure is a doozy.

Booker and the Suns are finalizing a four-year supermax extension through the 2027-28 season worth $214 million, according to Charania. The contract could be signed next week.

The 25-year-old is coming off his first All-NBA season, making First Team as a guard, and finished fourth in the MVP race.

This time it’s a supermax extension, first reported by The Athletic’s Shams Charania. While noting Booker’s contract details, Charania also slides in that he’ll be the cover athlete for 2k23.

At just 25-years-old, Booker is already a three-time NBA All-Star, was a first team All-Rookie recipient in 2017, a first team All-NBA recipient in 2022 and the three-point contest champion in 2018.

He’s also coming off his best statistical season yet, in which he averaged 26.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game with .466/.383/.868 shooting splits. Which was good enough for him to be in the running for league MVP.

Booker, a gamer and Twitch streamer, is also the first Suns player in the game’s existence, which dates back to NBA 2K in 1999, to land on the cover.

Past covers have highlighted future Suns like Miami Heat center Shaquille O’Neal on 2K6 and 2K7 and New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul on 2K8.
