Strong Leadership Supports Future Innovation
Lynn served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Leonardo DRS from 2012 through 2026. During his tenure, he led one of the defense industry's leading electronics companies. His executive leadership experience strengthens AV's corporate governance and strategic direction.Earlier in his career, Lynn served as the 30th US Deputy Secretary of Defense from 2009 to 2011. He worked under Secretaries Robert Gates and Leon Panetta during that period. As the department's chief operating officer, he led the development of its first cyber strategy.
Lynn also held senior leadership positions at Raytheon Company, now RTX, and the Department of Defense. His previous responsibilities included serving as Under Secretary of Defense and Chief Financial Officer. These leadership roles provide valuable experience across government and the defense sector.
He graduated from Dartmouth College and earned a JD from Cornell Law School. He also completed a Master of Public Administration in international affairs at Princeton University. His academic background complements his decades of executive experience.
