What to Bring and Wear to Your First Reiki Class Day

First days make people overthink small details. What do you wear? Should you bring food? Will there be a notebook? If you've signed up for Reiki training , a little preparation takes the edge off and lets you focus on learning instead of worrying about logistics.

Choose Comfortable Clothing

Pick loose, soft clothes that let you sit, lie down, and stay still without pinching. Layers help, because rooms can feel warm or cool, and your body temperature may shift when you relax. Avoid stiff jeans, tight waistbands, and scratchy fabrics. Warm socks are a good idea.

Leave the Heavy Jewellery

Large rings, bracelets, and long necklaces can get in the way during hand positions. Wear simple items, or none at all. Strong perfume is best skipped too, since others in the room may be sensitive.

Pack a Small Bag

Bring a few basics. A water bottle helps you stay settled. A notebook and pen let you jot down questions and tips. A light snack is useful if the class is long. Keep your bag small so it doesn't clutter the space.

Quick Packing List

Here's a handy summary:

  • Comfortable, layered clothing and warm socks
  • A water bottle
  • A notebook and pen
  • A light snack
  • Any paperwork or booking confirmation
  • A small cushion or blanket if you like extra comfort
  • Questions you've written down in advance
Check with the teacher in case the studio provides some of these.

Eat and Rest Beforehand

Have a light meal previously, since a heavy one can make you drowsy and an empty stomach can be distracting. Get a decent night's sleep if you can. Rest makes a real difference when the class involves a lot of stillness and quiet attention.

Arrive Early

Allow extra time for parking, finding the room, and settling in. Soul Compass Energy Healing lists a studio in Beaverton, Oregon, so check the address and travel time in advance. Arriving a few minutes early lets you breathe and meet the teacher before things begin.

Manage Your Nerves

Feeling nervous is normal. Take a few slow breaths before you walk in. Remind yourself that nobody expects you to know anything yet. Teachers prefer curious beginners to confident ones who've already decided how it should feel.

During the Day

Listen, take notes, and ask questions when something isn't clear. Join in the practice exercises, but don't force anything. If you need a break, say so. You're allowed to pause, drink water, or step outside for a moment.

Plan the Evening

Keep the rest of the day gentle. Skip big social events and heavy work tasks if possible. Eat something simple, drink water, and go to bed at a reasonable hour. Your body will thank you.

When you've chosen between various Reiki classes , confirm every detail in writing, including start time, location, and what to bring. Clear instructions mean fewer surprises on the day.

Surgery

A smooth first class day comes from comfortable clothes, a small bag, enough rest, and an early arrival. None of it is complicated. Get the practical things sorted the day before, and you'll arrive calm, ready to listen, and able to enjoy the experience.
