In a last minute choice, the release of the PS4 and PS5 variants of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth on September 29, 2022, to coincide with the release of the new section in the series, Valkyrie Elysium, has been delayed. The announcement was made on September 22, exactly multi week before the game was originally expected to release. Another date has been announced, and it's a piece further away than some may have been expecting, so fans should wait longer for this port of the PSP remaster of the original Valkyrie Profile game.

Game delays are normal nowadays, with engineers usually citing the requirement for additional opportunity for clean and to work on the overall experience. Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth will currently join a ton of other games hit with a delay this year, for example, Detestable West which was delayed from September to November this year. What could make this delay particularly frustrating for many, is that Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth should release one week from now, and the digital select version of Valkyrie Elysium, which is still releasing on September 29, contains a code to claim a digital duplicate of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth.

The delay was affirmed by the official Valkyrie Elysium Twitter account on September 22. The reason for the delay has been refered to as needing additional opportunity to work on the quality of the item. The new release date will be December 22, 2022. It was also affirmed by the designers that anyone that pre-requested the digital choice release of Valkyrie Elysium on the PlayStation Store will still get a download code for a duplicate of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth on December 22. The game will also be available for purchase separately from Valkyrie Elysium.

This delay has seemingly emerged from the blue, as very little information about the new port of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth has been revealed. This game is also not a full remaster and has been affirmed via the PlaySation Store to be a port of the HD remaster of the original Valkyrie Profile, which was released on the PSP in 2006 and given the name Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. Be that as it may, Valkyrie Profile fans need not stress for the new passage in the franchise, as it is still releasing on September 29, and Valkyrie Elysium got a playable demo on September 15, such countless fans are already playing the initial segment of the game and will actually want to transfer their save data to the full game.

With such little information on this new release of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, it is still surprising that a delay for the game wasn't announced sooner. With just seven days to go, a ton of fans will be disappointed, as there aren't many playable Valkyrie Profile titles on current hardware, yet in the event that it makes for a superior item in the end, a delay seems like the ok choice.
