I've been researching Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) in California , and while they seem like a fantastic option for extra living space or rental income, the rules and requirements here can feel a bit confusing. Between state laws, local city permits, and figuring out the right design, it's hard to know where to start.
Has anyone here built an ADU in California recently? How was your experience with permits, costs, and finding the right contractor? Any lessons learned or tips for someone just starting the process would be really valuable.
