Rize Credit Union has collaborated with Upstart to expand personal loan offerings in California, enabling more consumers throughout the state to access unsecured personal loans through an AI-driven lending platform. This partnership allows applicants qualified on Upstart's referral network to receive tailored loan offers and complete a Rize-branded loan application and closing process fully online, improving convenience and credit accessibility for members and new borrowers alike.
The agreement between Rize and Upstart will help the credit union broaden its digital lending footprint by leveraging Upstart's advanced AI models and scalable infrastructure. Rize first began offering personal loans as part of the Upstart Referral Network in May 2024, and this expanded collaboration formalizes a broader initiative to serve diverse financial needs, from prime borrowers to underserved households under Rize's Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) mission.
Jeanine Corpuz, Chief Lending Officer at Rize Credit Union, emphasized that the partnership aligns with the credit union's mission to uplift local communities by expanding access to affordable credit and supporting long-term financial security for its members.
Under this partnership, personal loan applicants who meet Rize's credit criteria on Upstart.com are routed seamlessly into a Rize-branded digital experience to complete underwriting and funding. Rize aims to grow its loan portfolio and expand its membership base through this all-digital lending experience, backed by Upstart's automated underwriting and analytics.
Upstart's AI lending marketplace connects consumers with more than 100 banks and credit unions, offering superior digital loan experiences and enabling deposit loans like Rize to approve a wider range of borrowers with competitive rates and automated processes.
