A talented Pokemon fan has created a great piece of fan art of a mecha variant of Lugia, and it is receiving a lot of attention for it online. While the Pokemon online fan local area is no stranger to showing drawings or figures of their favorite creatures in an alternate art style or appearance, this dedicated fan has created a profoundly imaginative image that could spawn a new subgenre style in the fandom.

A dual-type Clairvoyant/Flying Legendary Pokemon from the long-running franchise's subsequent generation, Lugia's popularity originally detonated after starring in Pokemon the Film 2000. One of a handful of the Pokemon to not be created by the Game Freak configuration team, Lugia has a seriously remarkable history, although a mecha rendition has never been part of it - at least as of recently.

The ornate drawing of the Mecha Lugia was created by Reddit client u/shunixe, who posted their undeniably amazing art to one of the greater Pokemon gatherings on the site. The Mecha Lugia retains the Pokemon's original variety plan of white and blue while adding a dark gray around its core and underside of appendages. Blue hexagonal armor plates encase the majority of its vitals, with particular yellow accenting parts of Mecha Lugia's body all through. The people who look carefully will notice several sharp little details, including the serial number of 0000249, a reference to Lugia's Pokedex number of #249.

Presented in a certain stance, the Mecha Lugia seems as though it can take on anything, a feeling shared by several of the original post's remarks. Gundam and Skyline Zero Dawn comparisons aside, the artwork is clearly a hit with fans, garnering above and beyond 1,000 upvotes within 24 hours of posting. While Mecha Lugia is certainly a novel take on the Pokemon, this actually isn't the initial time u/shunixe has drawn a mecha-fied rendition of them. The same artist drew another rendition of a Mecha Lugia earlier this year, which adheres a smidgen all the more near Lugia's original plan.

The same artist has created various Pokemon in their distinctive mecha art style. Other drawings include Sylveon, Umbreon, Rayquaza, and the Legendary canine threesome, including a particularly noteworthy Mecha Raikou.

While combining Pokemon and the mecha art style may be considered relegated to fan art, there is official merchandise that exists that combines the two, at least to some extent. Figurine manufacturer Hard Shell Studios revealed a Mecha Godzilla Pikachu last year, which features the Pokemon mascot equipped with what seems to be a Mecha Godzilla exosuit. The Mecha Godzilla Pikachu puts on his best angry face, however still looks adorable in the metallic armor. While very far-fetched, the growing pattern of mecha Pokemon could act as inspiration for a distinctly unique spinoff game.
