I never really worried much about car maintenance before becoming a parent. I would just wait until something broke or until the oil light came on. But now with my little one in the backseat, I find myself obsessing over every little sound and vibration. Last week I heard a weird squeak when braking and immediately started researching whether it was a safety issue or just an annoyance. It made me realize that waiting until something fails is not an option anymore. I actually scheduled a full brake inspection just for peace of mind even though the pads looked fine.
