Ever since having kids I see the road completely differently

I never really worried much about car maintenance before becoming a parent. I would just wait until something broke or until the oil light came on. But now with my little one in the backseat, I find myself obsessing over every little sound and vibration. Last week I heard a weird squeak when braking and immediately started researching whether it was a safety issue or just an annoyance. I came across some really practical automotive safety maintenance tips that explained how brake noises can sometimes indicate worn components that reduce stopping distance, especially in emergency situations. It made me realize that waiting until something fails is not an option anymore. I actually scheduled a full brake inspection just for peace of mind even though the pads looked fine. Anyone else become way more paranoid about car maintenance after having kids?
