2018 Land Rover Discovery AC not blowing cold at idle – works fine when driving

I've got a 2018 Discovery and the AC has been acting up. When I'm driving at highway speeds, it blows ice cold. But when I'm stuck in traffic or at a stop light, the air gets noticeably warmer, almost like outside temperature. As soon as I start moving again, it gets cold. I checked the radiator fans and they seem to be spinning, but I'm not sure if they're spinning fast enough. I took it to a shop in Dubai and they said it might be low on refrigerant or a failing condenser fan, but they weren't confident. I'm looking for a land rover ac workshop sharjah that has experience with these Discovery AC systems. Has anyone here had this issue where the AC only works when the car is moving? What ended up being the problem? I'm worried it could be a faulty cooling fan module or a partially clogged condenser. The car has 70k kilometers on it and is otherwise fine. I'd rather not take it to the dealer because I know they'll charge a fortune. If you know a good AC specialist in Sharjah for Land Rovers, please share. Thanks for any help.

Cold at highway speed but warm at idle is a textbook condenser fan issue on a Discovery. Moving air at speed compensates for the fan not working properly but stationary traffic exposes the fault immediately.

Fans spinning does not mean fans spinning fast enough. A failing fan control module on these Land Rovers will run the fans at low speed constantly but never ramp up to the high speed needed for proper condenser cooling in traffic.

Partially clogged condenser is worth checking on a 70k Discovery especially if it has been driven in dusty conditions. Restricted airflow through the condenser causes exactly this speed dependent cooling pattern.

The Dubai shop suspecting refrigerant on a fault that works perfectly at speed is not a strong diagnosis. Low refrigerant causes consistent weak cooling, not a speed dependent pattern that disappears on the highway.

Land Rover fan control module faults on the L462 Discovery are well documented and any specialist familiar with these systems will check the fan speed data with diagnostic software before recommending anything else.
