Sri Vakulamatha Temple was built about 300 years ago and is located on a hillock in Peruru 5 km from the temple city Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Earlier the first pooja was performed here, then the pooja started at the main temple in Tirumala, later while Hyder Ali and Tippu Sulthan invaded Chandra Giri, this temple faced its share of spoils and plunder, and the temple became nonfunctional and lost its former glory .
